Salec held 2nd Annual Technology Event in El-Gouna
Saudi Logistics and Electronic Company, Salec held its 2nd annual Technology Conference in the Movenpick Resort & Spa, in El-Gouna, Hurgada, Egypt from the 24th till the 26th of May. A large number of the top level executives, ICT experts, and professionals from Salec’s most valued customers, as well as a large number of companies specialized in the ICT domain from Egypt and abroad attended the forum.
Mahmoud Soliman, President and CEO of Salec, said that the event is targeting different industry sectors with special emphasis on the Oil and Gas, as well as the financial sector. Soliman also added that the event sheds light on IT solutions that provide high levels of network security, uptime performance, and overall simplicity. According to Soliman one of the reasons behind holding such events “is to expose decision makers to new technology trends; which they should consider in their future planning and be aware of the road map of each technology.” This will in no doubt enable them to protect current investments and lower future ones.
A series of presentations by Salec’s top network consultants as well as by its vendors explained new trends in technology focused on high performance networking; such as Zhone which presented Next Generation Leased Line Services in their “Ethernet in the First Mile” presentation, whereas Aruba Networks with its “Broadband Wireless Applications” presentation demonstrated how mobility, security and convergence; those three seemingly independent trends, intersect at the edge of the enterprise network where users and devices plug in to gain access to network services. CA, on the other hand, will present how one can reduce IT administration costs, enable new business opportunities as well as create better disaster recovery plans, lower storage-related costs and manage information through CA products. Last but not least, was Juniper Networks in the “Secured and Assured Networks” presentation showed how to align IT with business requirements explaining how the network can be a strategic asset that innovates businesses and business processes.
